Marv & Kaat...
...is the dynamic collaboration of veteran singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marv Gohman and rising talent Kaatwalk, a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter and gifted guitarist. Their live show is an immersive musical journey—featuring soulful, commanding vocals, rich harmonies, and a genre-blending sound that touches on folk-rock, Americana, and beyond. Between them, they weave layers of texture using violin, harmonica, mandolin, and a wide array of guitars. Call it what you will—their music speaks for itself.

MARV'S BIO:
Marv grew up in suburban Minneapolis/St. Paul and started playing violin when he was nine. He always enjoyed singing and as his musical adventure progressed he started picking up more and more instruments. He has performed professionally on: 6 & 12 string acoustic & electric Guitars (they’re fun to collect), Harmonica/Blues Harp, Percussion, Mandolin, Keyboard, Viola, Bass, Banjo, Recorder, Tin Whistle, and various other noise makers. It gets a little tough to get enough practice on all of them.

Performing on countless stages big and small from coffee houses to 50,000 seat festivals, & on radio and TV, with a number of notable Minnesota bands. Back aways he played with the Steel Cats, packing clubs all over Minnesota. He was with the Mrozinsky Brothers when they were awarded the best variety combo from the Minnesota Music Academy. From there he became one of the original REMBRANDTS with Phil Solem who later went on to record the hits “Just The Way It Is Baby” and “I’ll Be There For You” (Theme song for the TV show FRIENDS). Marv has also been a part time member of the popular Minnesota band, GB Leighton. He was a member of the Chace Roberts Band. A rockin’ country outfit that at the time had a hit song “Got It Bad For You” in rotation on Mpls/St. Paul station K102 as well as other country music stations around the U.S.

With the Grammy winning songwriter and band Kevin Bowe and the Okemah Prophets he recorded three CDs: “Restoration” and “Love Songs & Murder Ballads” were released locally, their third CD “Angels On The Freeway” was released internationally by Corazong Records of Holland. A fourth CD was recorded live with local favorite Mick Sterling and Kevin Bowe and a combined band titled “Doin’ It For The People”. While the Prophets were on hiatus, the band and Marv continued to back Mick at his club and festival dates. Other groups he’s been involved with were Vintage Raggs a classic rock band and St.Paul institution with members Brian Gallagher (Prince) & Pancho Lopez (Stevie Wonder and Kool & the Gang), Late For Lunch which leaned toward acoustic jazz and Hitchville a country band which played all the big country festivals regionally and released 2 albums during his tenure.  Marv has been on a number of studio dates for many locally released CDs.  He is a member of Curtiss A’s annual John Lennon Tribute show at First Avenue going on its 46th year.  Recently he performed a livestream show with the Jayhawks.  His latest long running collaboration has been with the phenomenal up and coming singer/songwriter Kaatwalk. Their duo is called Marv & Kaat and Marv also plays in Kaat’s original music project simply called Kaatwalk.

Songwriting is another facet of his musical career. One song “Crossing Lines” written with Phil Solem and Mike Tienken was placed in several episodes of the CBS show “The Young & the Restless” and played in the film “Michael Moore Hates America”. Many more original songs come out in his solo & duo performances.  Those shows also include an eclectic mix of Americana, Folk, Blues, Rock and Soul.   He is a writer and publisher member of ASCAP.

KAATS BIO:
Kaatwalk, a Twin Cities based singer-songwriter, infuses her music with a quiet honesty. Her musical style is a blend of heartfelt lyrics and a stripped-down, authentic sound. She believes that music isn’t about perfection; it’s about being present and connecting with others. She’s grateful for every opportunity to grow, connect, and share songs that feel authentic.

Inspired by storytellers like Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, and Joni Mitchell, Kaatwalk’s music defies genre boundaries and embraces lived experiences. Her songwriting is personal and reflective, often drawn from the shared moments and emotional undercurrents of everyday life. She has released 5 songs so far: “Monster" in 2022, “Rum in Your Coffee" in 2022, “Peace of Mind,” a collaboration with the Fargo-based band, Walking Phoenix released in 2023, and "Falling on Deaf Ears" a collaboration with local artist, Dirty Hymns. Kaatwalk's fifth song was just released October 17th.  It’s called "Stop the Rain", and is available in online stores.

You can also find Kaatwalk vocals on many songs of the album "Northern Soul" by Twin Cities based band, The Holy North. The sophomore album was released October 3rd, 2025.

Kaatwalk has been recording new music with respected Minnesota musicians such as Marvin Gohman, Bob Delage, Phil Solem, Gil Navarro, and several guest players. Additionally, she has been working with engineer John Wright at his studio in Savage, Minnesota.

Outside of her solo work, she performs full-time as one half of the duo Marv and Kaat, and sings with the epic, powerhouse group, The Holy North. Collaboration and community are central to her creative process.
